Plans to integrate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and single-chip mobile service modems could be under development at Apple

From the beginning until now, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile service modems have all been separate chips in users' smartphones. Because Apple plans to gain more space in smartphones, they are developing a chip that can replace all of that at the same time.

The new report is shared by Bloomberg, who added that Apple will be able to launch the new chip in late 2024 or early 2025. The first phase will be the use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modems in a single chip, and later the integration of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile services into a single chip. .

As a result, Apple will almost certainly stop using Boardcom and Qualcomm SIM modems if Apple succeeds in making the chip. Although Apple makes its own, it still has to buy technology rights from Qualcomm and Ericsson to use and develop the new chip.

Even Qualcomm itself predicts that Apple will be able to build its own 5G modem as soon as 2024. If you switch to a single chip, then the iPhone body also has more space to expand the battery or put other new devices to add.
